We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of our life members, Barbara Weimer. Our thoughts and prayers are extended to the many friends and family whom loved Barbara dearly. She attended John Harris High School and Lebanon Valley College. She was a proud, loving, and supportive wife, mother, and grandmother. She leaves behind a long history of volunteerism as an EMT and supporting member of Silver Spring Ambulance. She was a founding member of a NY fire department and one of the first women firefighters on Long Island. She found great reward in community service including hours of time donated to the American Red Cross, Boy and Girl Scouts of America, as well as social and religious work. Her numerous hobbies included traveling by road, gardening, bird-watching, and a plethora of crafts that range from knitting to quilting and sewing. She was an adored member of the community and will be greatly missed for far more than simply her skills in the kitchen. She is survived by her husband George C. Weimer Jr., sister Jane, daughters Malini and Stephanie, sons George III and Michael, as well as 6 devoted grandchildren. A celebration of the life of Barbara Weimer will be held at the Silver Spring Presbyterian Church on Silver Spring Road in Mechanicsburg on Saturday July 25th from 1 to 4pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Barbara Weimer Memorial Fund ℅ Ameriprise Financial Services Inc. at 5237 E. Trindle Rd Mechanicsburg, PA 17050. |
