Care Priorities for the Acute Stroke
A course presentation designed to increase efficiency in the management of stroke patients. Presented by the clinical staff of Holy Spirit Hospital – A Geisinger Affiliate, a local primary stroke center. Pediatric Transport
The Pennsylvania Department of Health Bureau of EMS 2015 Basic Life Support Protocol revision incorporated a number of changes regarding the safe transport of pediatric patients. Primarily, this entailed securing pediatric patients in size-appropriate safety restraint systems or car seats in the ambulance. This course applies the protocol using a variety of safety devices. Critical Incident Stress & EMS
The role of EMS is to organize chaos in order to minimize the effects of illness and injury of patients. With this demanding responsibility, EMS is prone to conditions such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder due to job-related stressors. Aspects of prevention, recognition, and available assistance to maintain the well-being of EMS providers will be discussed. Lifting & Moving
This course is designed to review EMS injury statistics and how to avoid becoming one! An interactive polling system will be used throughout the course to compare the perceptions and experiences of participants to the actual statistical data.
