We would like to congratulate Hazel Milano on her successful completion of the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician's Paramedic certification.   Milano is a junior at the University of Pittsburgh pursuing an undergraduate degree in Emergency Medicine.   Just as many of our collegiate volunteers, she has volunteered frequently on between semesters and over breaks.

"The University of Pittsburgh offers the only bachelor degree program in emergency medicine in the country. This program is designed to provide graduates with a competitive advantage in the healthcare fields. Many EM students continue to medical school and other graduate level programs upon completion.  As this field continues to grow and change, leaders and educators with a background in emergency medicine are needed to help shape the future of Emergency Medical Services (EMS)."  -University of Pittsburgh website

Milano will continue to volunteer with Silver Spring Ambulance at the conclusion of the spring semester.

Silver Spring Ambulance welcomes students, 16 years of age or older, to participate in a ride-along career exploration or join as a volunteer.  For more information, visit: www.silverspringambulance.com/volunteer.
