We would like to take the opportunity to recognize one of our volunteers, Joseph Kurtz, upon his graduation from Penn State University.  Kurtz earned a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering.  Additionally, we were informed today that he has been commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force.

Join us in congratulating and saluting Second Lieutenant Joseph Kurtz!

Kurtz began as an EMT through a high school internship in Emergency Medical Services, which he completed at Silver Spring Ambulance.  He has since continued his interests with the Penn State University Ambulance Service. He had the unique opportunity to work as an EMT for a number of high-profile events, including Penn State Football at Beaver Stadium and the Penn State THON.

Silver Spring Ambulance is proud to have a number of our volunteers that actively pursue higher education.  These students represent a variety of educational institutions and fields of study.  Many of these students spend a considerable amount of time during their breaks volunteering with us.
